Design Philosophy: "To maintain a Traditional style of Architecture, through unique designs that work with new technologies and lifestyles"

We are a residential design firm that is dedicated to a much more personal approach to the design of our Client’s homes, where the actual principal owners in the firm actually design the homes. We remain involved in the project throughout the creation of our designs, all the way through the construction of our homes. We have repeat Client’s that have been back multiples of times to have us design new homes for them in new locations or weekend homes at the lake or in the mountains.

Our honors and awards consist of winning 9 Gold Obie awards since 1996 for homes that have received recognition from the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association. We area also the winner of 2 Aurora awards for homes that we have designed in Georgia and Florida. We have the honor of having designed several “Idea Houses” for “Southern Living”. We have many homes that have appeared in numerous magazines, including “Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles”, “Better Homes & Gardens”, “Southern Living”, and “Second Home”. One of our homes is on permanent display as a showhome inside the Carpets of Dalton showroom. We are also the residential designers of many of the homes found in upscale neighborhoods around metro-Atlanta area and locations throughout the northern half of Georgia and the mountains of North Carolina. We have been the residential designers for some of the Roswell Woman’s Club Showcase Homes.

Our firm, a small business started in 1996 with the desire to create a higher standard of residential design, has had a string of successes. We are proud of the work that we do at Bryan & Contreras, LLC. We feel that a great home should be one where the home designer has thoroughly recognized the owner’s requirements and one that also manages to create a timeless design that best captures the specifics of the land on which it sits. We specialize in custom home plans and house plans created just for our clients individual needs.

About the Home Designer

Tim Bryan grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he began sketching floor plans and house plans when he was only seven years old. Many of those original drawings can be found on the walls of his office today. Tim has lived in Atlanta for 20 years, and has designed and built his own home in Milton.

• Worked several years with one of Atlanta’s finest residential designers
• Headed the design division of an Atlanta home building company

Eduardo Contreras grew up in Santa Ana, El Salvador, a city full of classical Spanish colonial architecture. He moved to the capital city, and later came to study in the United States as a member of the International House, a college exchange program. Today he lives in The Villa, designed by Philip Trammel Shutze in the early 1920s. He recently renovated his home there.

• Received the Edward Vason Jones Scholarship from the Institute of Classical Architecture; traveled to Rome to study the principles of classical architecture
